A 24-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with sexual abuse of a 15-year-old male student.
For the last three months Jennifer Michelle Glad served as a volunteer assistant coach for the boys’ varsity basketball team at Seneca Valley High School in Germantown.
Montgomery County police say she carried on a sexual relationship with a student for several weeks during December, 2009.
It has not been revealed if the high school boy is a varsity basketball player. As with any child sex victim, his name is being kept confidential.
The fifteen year old is a sex victim because he is under the age of consent. And with this type of crime, the victim is usually the girl.
Police said Jennifer M. Glad of Ferry Landing Circle in Germantown was charged four counts of sexual abuse of a minor and four counts of a third-degree sexual offense. The coach ran and hid in her car after leaving the Montgomery County Detention Center in Rockville Friday night.
According to police, the two would have sex in the back of her vehicle in parking lots convenient to their respective homes. At least one of the sexual encounters took place in the parking lot of Roberto Clemente Middle School.
Glad was charged with four counts of sexual abuse of a minor and four counts of sexual offense in the third-degree.
Glad works as a personal trainer at Healthtrax Fitness & Wellness at the Suburban Wellness Center in Germantown.
Glad’s neighbors say she lives with her parents and young sisters.
Glad graduated from Seneca Valley herself in 2003. According to the Post, she went on to attend the University of Maryland in College Park.
“I am totally in shock. Totally! They walk their dog all the time,” said Glad’s neighbor, Danita Hill, whose daughter attends Seneca Valley.
