This man’s body was found near the intersection of Father Hurley Blvd. and Rt. 270 on February 5th. He had been shot, and his body dumped on a highway on ramp.
The victim is now known to be Gerardo Botello, approximately 40 years old. Lalo Botello to his friends. His identity was obtained from a fingerprint match.
When the victim’s clothing was returned to investigators from the Medical Examiner’s office, a small 2 inch by ½ inch, blue, paper laundry tag was found inside the jeans worn by the victim which contained a handwritten five-digit number, “22460”, and the name “Carlos Quintero”.
Police weren’t sure that Quintero was the murder victim’s true name. Possibly he was wearing someone else’s pants. It is now believed that name was used by Botello as an alias.
Originally from Panama, he lived in Brooklyn. He may have been visiting friends and family in Maryland.
Readers have said that his body will be taken back to Panama.
Police would appreciate any information, especially as relating to Botello’s murder. This is an interesting America’s Most Wanted piece with information I haven’t seen elsewhere.
Father Hurley Blvd. is named after Father Hurley. He was a local Catholic priest in Germantown who started Mother Seton Catholic Church.
