Germantown’s version of this widespread observance takes place at Ridge Road Park near Milestone at Routes 27 and 355, 4:00p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Helicopter, police dogs, horses, free food, and other recreation department activities will be available.
Last year this celebration was moved from Germantown to Clarksburg, where Hard Times Cafe served free chili.
National Night Out is a nationwide event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch designed to reinforce community spirit and improve the relationships between the police and the community. Let’s hope that everyone’s home isn’t burglarized while cops and citizens munch on hot dogs and sodas, or whatever they’ll have.
The 5th district police held this event at BlackRock in 2006. At least the arts center was used for something. It probably was their biggest turnout for any event, art or not.
