Xceleron is a biomedical research company that has just opened its doors of a Germantown Facility. They advicate a controvertial technique called microdosing. Take a small, but harmless, dose of a drug and test it on humans instead of testing a normal dose on an animal.
The best model for humans is humans. Such experiments are designed to provide a quicker, cheaper trial.
This company is not entirely new to the area. Last year the founders, husband-and-wife team Colin and June Garner, moved to Bethesda from Britain to be closer to their U.S. operations.
Xceleron, on Seneca Meadows Parkway, is close to Middlebrook Pharmaceuticals and Avalon Pharmaceuticals.
