The Montgomery County Recreation Department is partnering with the Montgomery County Historical Society to offer a new summer camp program called Backyard History Camp. Campers will explore the richness of Montgomery County’s history by traveling each day to an historical destination.
From the Underground Railroad and archaeological digs to colonial farms and Civil War battlefields, history will be brought to life through fun and educational experiences for campers. The first one-week session which begins on July 28 and runs through August 1 will be held at the Waters House in Germantown.

The second session, August 4 – 8, will be held at the Beall-Dawson House in Rockville. The cost of the camp is $300 for each one-week session, including all transportation, entrance fees, course materials and snacks.
For that money, they must be good snacks.
