  1. Hi Mike,

I have been and am in real estate for at least the last 6 years and yes there has to be a place for owners of trucks to park their trucks. Not really a place for an 18 wheeler in a townhouse or condo community but none the less they have to park some where. We seem them mainly on some of the larger roads all over the county. In my subdivision we had a problem with trucks parking on one of our main streets. Not like any of the drivers even lived in our subdivision and then those little trailers that people can not even see most of the time and crash into them. The stay parked there month after month. I will try to get to you event in Germantown but really I don’t want to be one that complains too much. For sure I have some views on this disclosure of the value of property tax and if there is a special tax district. Yes something needed to be done but I think like many times – the fix is ‘a bit much’.

Jim Goff (Former Republican – supported you since you first ran to unseat Nancy – met with your group at I-370 and Great Seneca.

One other point. My mother-in-law has had an application for a Green Card in the mix for my brother-in-law – 10 years now and ot finally looks like the application is moving. He does not have to press 1 for English as he has been living and working in England/Scotland for the past 20 years but honestly – I see my government – top to bottom – allow Illegal Entry into my country, and giving a select group far too much of our tax dollars without our permission. Government has changed over the years. It used to be government by the people and it has moved over to government by government.

The county government wants to talk about anything but their constant efforts to raise taxes. Mike Knapp you voted to exceed the charter property tax limit three years in a row from FY033-FY05 and recently, as gas prices were heading to $4/gallon called for a gasoline tax increase.

County Executive Leggett has proposed the biggest property tax increase in 20 years, one which rips way through the charter property tax revenue limit.
Open Mike, do not vote to exceed the charter property tax limit again.
